Animal Control Services

The City of Memphis' Animal Control Service department provides the following assistance to all residents and is dedicated to helping protect the health, safety, and welfare of both animals and people in our community.

• Responding to stray animal complaints
• Investigating dangerous animals
• Impoundments
• Adoptions
• Trapping nuisance wildlife and loose livestock
• Carcass removal
• City Tags
• Livestock Permits
• Animal Forfeitures 

As a reminder, if you keep livestock within the City limits you are required to have a Livestock Permit. Annual Permits expire on December 31st. If your Permit has expired, please contact Animal Control to have it renewed.
